The new Makana North Shore Urgent Care Center was founded by Dr. Ted Kimball and a group of emergency room doctors from Utah. The center will serve all people with non-life-threatening injuries who currently end up in the emergency room, and will be open 24 hours, 7 days a week. They will not provide general practitioner services and will refer patients to local GP’s, as well as offer the doctors use at cost of the center’s state-of-the-art x-ray, ultrasound and diagnostic facilities.
Architectural plans for the clinic have been completed and the site blessing ceremony took place in March 2016. Most recently, the center’s construction loan was approved. The type of loan obtained by the clinic requires community financial donations to demonstrate strong community backing, so as the start of construction draws near, the center will need your support. Construction of this modern medical facility will take approximately 10-12 months at an estimated cost of $4.4 million.
